Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that involves the gentle insertion of sterile, stainless-steel needles into specific areas located along energetic pathways called "meridians." The needles activate the electric potential held in the fascia, the body's connective tissue that surrounds every cell. This activation of electrical energy generates heat (Yang) that stimulates the movement of blood, lymphatic, and other fluids in the body (Yin). Yin and Yang, Qi and Blood flow together and when this flow is impeded, "dis-ease" can manifest. Health is restored when the vital substances of the body can move freely. Supplemental modalities such as cupping, Gua Sha, and moxibustion may also be included to help remove blockages, facilitate movement, and restore balance.

Therapeutic Bodywork
Therapeutic bodywork can aid in the release of chronic muscular tension, improve circulation, strengthen the Mind/Body connection, and improve ones' overall sense of wellbeing. Sessions are personalized to your individual needs, and multiple modalities are offered to improve range of motion, eliminate chronic pain patterns, and promote a deep sense of relaxation and safety. I blend traditional Swedish massage with trigger point therapy, myofascial release, facilitated stretching, and acupressure to relieve tension and restore balance to Body, Mind, and Spirit. TCM tools such as cupping, Gua Sha, and moxibustion may also be included to break up stagnant blood and restore healthy circulation to the tissues.

Herbal Medicine Consultation
Chinese herbal medicine was developed from an ancient culture who viewed the body as an extension of Nature. They believed we were not separate from Nature, rather constructed by and sustained through an intimate relationship with it.
Herbal medicine sessions include a comprehensive discussion of symptoms, review of systems, observation of the tongue, and palpation of the radial pulse. Through these diagnostic tools, we arrive at one or more "patterns" of disharmony in the body. Each pattern has a specific treatment principle that utilizes plant, mineral, and/or animal substances to assist the body in correcting the imbalance. Herbal formulas are customized to the individual; lifestyle and dietary recommendations may also be offered to support treatment goals.
